The Phoneix Fund was created because of a special puppy that was born to our program on November 12, 2011. His amazing story can be read in Phoenix's blog. Phoenix's mother developed a late term infection and as a result all 12 of Phoenix's siblings were either born dead or died within the first 24 hours. Phoenix was the sole survivor. His next four weeks of life were a struggle for surivial when he developed severe pnemounia. He was in and out of emergency vet offices and intensive care. Phoenix survived and is a sweet puppy who loves people. But the fight for survival was not cheap. The Phoenix Fund was created to help pay for the vet bills that Phoenix incurred in his fight for survival and to fund future emergency veterinary bills that dogs in our program may incur. Because when it comes to a life and death decision, we don't want money to be the deciding factor.
