Assistance Canine Training
Services is a nonprofit organization based in the Lakes Region and White
Mountains of New Hampshire. We raise and train assistance and service
dogs for people with disabilities.
Our puppies in training
come from our own breeding program and the generosity of other breeders
who donate. Most of our puppies are Golden Retrievers and Labs. To learn
more about the puppies, click

Our puppies are raised
by volunteer puppy raisers from eight weeks of age to placement with the
client at about two years of age. To learn more about our puppies in training,

Although we try for the
highest success rate possible, we do have dogs that due to unique circumstances
can not be an assistance dog. We try to find a job for those dogs, but
if we can't, we try to find loving homes for them. To learn more about
adopting a dog, click

Once the puppy is ready
to be placed with a client, we try to match the client and the dog together
based on many different aspects, including the personalities of both the
client and the dog, the client's needs and the dog's needs. This way we
create lifelong partnerships. To learn more about requesting an assistance
dog, click here.
ACTS is a completely volunteer
organization so we are always looking for people to help with many different
things. If you are interested in volunteering, whether as a puppy raiser,
breeder caretaker, or other options, click

ACTS was organized
in loving memory of Nathaniel J Williams (1982-2005).
